What is ODB?
ODB is a Java based application that gives you the power to deploy information to internal and external users across a LAN, or a WAN to anywhere in the world!

ODB is:
• A system-independent application
• Secure with strong user/client Authentication
• Easily maintainable
• Customer/Client specific and Scalable
• Latest technology incorporating a 3 tiered structure

ODB is database independent and can interact with any SQL database, regardless of whether the database is from IBM, Microsoft, Oracle or anyone else.

So you can use it for all your B2B, B2C or B2E applications for example:
• Keep your field force informed about job status and prioritisation
• Allow your customers to view the progress of their work through your organisation
• Let your customers place orders against known stock availability
• Allow subcontractors to report on the status of jobs

ODB can be simply updated to allow for new facilities, customers and users. You remain in control of your data at all times.

ODB checks that a user is authorised, extracts the specified data from your records and presents it to the user.`

How does ODB Achieve this?
ODB is a 3 tiered Java based application that accesses SQL databases by providing middleware software and is configured using XML.

The Java platform is based on the idea that the same software should run on many different kinds of computers. With this technology you can use the same application on any kind of machine – a PC, a Macintosh, etc. Java is designed to be portable, modular and secure. It is ideal to use to access information remotely.

Java provides strong security features, which we have fully implemented, to provide a high level of data integrity and protection against unauthorised data access.
